Ghostzapper Filly Brings $800,000 at OBS March

03.14.2017 -

Ghostzapper has been one of the most consistently brilliant sires in North America over the past several seasons and his three graded stakes winners makes him one of the hottest sires in North America in 2017. The commercial market has certainly taken notice with a Ghostzapper filly commanding $800,000 at the OBS March Two-Year-Old in Training sale.

Hip #568, consigned by Harris Training Center, LLC, attracted attention on her own by scorching a quarter mile in :9.4 during the March 11 breeze show (watch here). She is full sister to Acorn/Test Stakes heroine Contested, one of Ghostzapper's nine Grade 1 winners. Narvick International was the winning bidder.

She wasn't the only popular Ghostzapper filly in Ocala as Hip #310 was hammered down for $460,000. The chestnut lass was consigned by Crupi's New Castle Farm and posted an impressive of her own zipping an eighth in :10.1 (watch here).

Bred by Colts Neck Stables, LLC out of the Yes It's True dam You Asked (and now named I Did), the filly hails from a deep Janney family that's produced the likes of Wood Memorial (G1) winner Private Terms and champion Suggestive Boy. Agent Jamie McCalmont signed the $460,000 ticket.

Among Ghostzapper's 2017 graded winners is Shaman Ghost, winner of the Santa Anita Handicap (G1) on March 11.
